Dr Matthew Maley is a research fellow at Queensland University of Technology, Australia, working on a number projects within the area of thermoregulation and exercise physiology.

Previously, Matthew worked at the University of Wolverhampton as a lecturer in exercise and health. Dr Maley completed his PhD at the University of Portsmouth (UK) within the area of applied physiology. Devising experiments ranging from local extremity cooling to local delivery of vasoactive drugs he has published four original research articles in internationally recognised journals from his PhD.

Matthew’s current research interests focus around at-risk groups (e.g. elderly, diabetics, occupational workers in the heat) and their responses to exercise and/or environmental extremes (e.g. heat, cold, hypoxia).
