Graduate - Esports Psychology

Michael Trotter, a senior lecturer at the University of Halmstad, and researcher within the Movement for Health and Performance program, studies the psychological variables and strategies which underpin sports performance and the maintenance of mental health particularly with a focus on esports and snowsports.
While at QUT, Michael was instrumental in introducing esports to the university, founding the QUT Esports program and launching the Diploma in Esports at QUT College. His efforts have earn him the National Young Researcher Award from the Swedish Central Association for the Promotion of Sport and a place among Queensland University of Technology’s 30 innovators of the past 30 years. Michael is currently working as part of an international initiative to support positive mental health and improve mental health literacy in esports funded by the EU.
