Doctor of Philosophy (Queensland University of Technology), Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (Monash University), BCom (University of Queensland), LLB (University of Queensland)
I am an internationally recognised scholar in environmental markets, international trade law, and taxation. My research sits at the intersection of law, economics, and climate policy, with a particular focus on how legal frameworks shape and are shaped by environmental and economic systems. My work critically examines economic instruments designed to achieve legal outcomes such as carbon pricing, the Nature Repair Market, and the ACCU Scheme. I do this by drawing on political economy and interdisciplinary theory to better understand how these instruments will impact on social and environmental outcomes.
I also teach across units in taxation law, behavioural law and economics and international trade rules. I have led major collaborative projects with government, industry, and community groups, including research cited in the National Farmers’ Federation’s submission to the EPBC Act review and a widely referenced report on the risks of Safeguard Mechanism for Australian farmers.
I have an established track record of academic leadership and impact, working with partners and mentoring the next generation of researchers. My current book project explores how environmental markets intersect with international diplomacy, trade, inequality, and the challenges of climate transition in the current volatile global environment.
