Energy Policy, Markets and Human Factors

Program mission

The QUT Energy Transition Centre (ETC) includes four foundational technical disciplines positioned to help deliver the technology-related outcomes required to drive the global marketplace’s move towards lower carbon footprint energy sources. As important as the underlying technologies are, however, there are often other reasons why things happen or don’t happen within energy markets that have little to do with the underlying technology. Issues like finance, politics, and human factors can also play important roles in the success or failure of promising innovations. To these ends, this cross-cutting team will research the policy, market, and human factor kinds of questions that will need to be answered en route to having these technical solutions achieve their objectives.
