The QUT Energy Transition Centre aims to advance global transition to sustainable energy systems for decarbonisation and net zero emissions.
The focus of the Centre is on addressing challenges related to securing critical mineral resources essential for energy generation and storage technologies, deployment of energy to grid, promotion of renewable energy adoption, energy security and resilience, scalable and secure grid digitisation, market analysis, policy development, education and human behaviors that influence adoption of new energy technologies.
The aim of the Centre is to conduct excellent fundamental and applied research and to translate the cutting-edge research and technology development into real-world commercial applications that would provide environmental, technological, economical and societal benefits. This will be achieved by drawing on QUT’s extensive interdisciplinary research expertise in collaboration with national and international government and industry partners.
What we do
QUT is at the forefront of renewable energy research, taking important breakthroughs from the lab to the factory in solar, hydrogen, batteries, biofuels, energy efficiency, and digital energy. We are working to integrate these technologies into the renewable energy industry as a way of assisting the country to develop its renewable energy capacity.
