Michael is the ESRG Research Manager. He currently leads the Electrochemical Testing Project of the Future Battery Industries CRC. Michael holds a PhD in Physics, where the focus of his thesis was on the characterisation of graphene-based materials for supercapacitors. For his PhD work, he was nominated for the prestigious Bragg Gold Medal (Australian Institute of Physics). Michael has since worked on Australian Research Council funded work for the recycling of Li-ion batteries, and on graphene-based films for a Defence Science and Technology Group project. Michael describes his ongoing research motivation as a desire to contribute towards innovating and building the energy storage systems that will electrify logistics.
