The United Nations has developed 17 Sustainable Development Goals as an urgent call to developed and developing countries to act to end poverty, improve health and education, reduce inequality and spur economic growth. QUT is committed to meeting the challenges that will lead to a more sustainable world.
Much of the research undertaken by our members aligns with:

Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
Goal 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development
Goal 15: Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems
Goal 16: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels
