Our research is built on partnerships with people with intellectual disability and/or autism, as well as people in their support networks.
People can show us how our designs need to be improved as they are using or trying technology. They can also, as well as people who support them, tell us what they wish the technology would offer, and how it can be built differently.
For some of our studies, we might only meet once for under an hour, but for most studies we might meet several times over a period of time. We can meet in the community or at QUT, depending on the technology we are looking at.
We could also, in some studies, let participants use our technology for a period of time, and meet every once in a while to learn how it can be used and improved in the long term.
In some of our studies, participants can also learn more about everyday technology that is already available, and they might take part individually or as part of a group.
