The media literacy needs and experiences of adult Australians

Project dates: 2020 - Ongoing

The DMRC is partnering with Western Sydney University’s Institute for Culture and Society to undertake Australia’s first national survey of adults’ media literacy values, needs, capabilities, skills and knowledge. The research will also support media literacy stakeholders across Australia to co-develop a national media literacy framework and strategy.

The project is part of a collaboration with New York-based organisation the National Association for Media Literacy Education (NAMLE) and supports knowledge exchange between media literacy educators and researchers in Australia and the United States. The project is also in partnership with the Australian Media Literacy Alliance.
