A cross-country comparison of online audience engagement with Russian foreign media

This project investigates the audience engagement with Russian state-sponsored media such as RT and Sputnik on leading social media platforms such as Facebook and beyond and across German, English, Spanish, and Russian languages served by the outlet. We are a multilingual research team of early-career researchers and senior research leaders from the DMRC QUT and the RUSINFORM research group at the University of Passau. We draw on a diverse methodological skillset and extensive contextual knowledge that enable us to analyse these sharing patterns in the language of the content being shared, and against the backdrop of the socio-political settings in each of the national and language communities.
