The Digital Mentor’s Handbook

The Digital Mentor’s Handbook outlines 8 evidence-based principles for effective digital mentoring. It includes practical resources, information and activities for digital mentors to complete on their own or in conjunction with their supervisors or learners.

This handbook should be used in conjunction with the accompanying research report: Digital Mentoring in Australian Communities, specifically pages 34-39.

Digital Ability Self-assessment Tool

The Digital Ability Self-Assessment Tool is designed to help people assess their baseline digital ability. It  may be used by facilitators in community settings to start conversations with learners about existing and desired skills. 

This tool should be used in conjunction with the accompanying research report: Measuring and evaluating digital ability for digital inclusion in Queensland, specifically pages 13-20.

Companion to Digital Ability Self-Assessment Tool #1

The Companion to the Self-Assessment Tool is designed to assist digital mentors to interpret the capability statements that comprise the Tool for their learners. It provides explanations and examples of capability statements that help put them into context for learners.

Companion to Digital Ability Program Evaluation Tool #2

The Companion to the Digital Ability Program Evaluation Tool l is designed to assist  administrators to focus on appropriate measures for each evaluation area. It provides examples of the kinds of tasks measures and that could be documented in an impact statement. 

This companion should be used in conjunction with the accompanying research report: Measuring and evaluating digital ability for digital inclusion in Queensland, specifically pages  20-22.

Fostering Digital Participation Toolkit

The Fostering Digital Participation Toolkit to designed to assist people and institutions in regional and rural communities to understand and meet the digital needs of the local community.

This toolkit should be used in conjunction with further resources on the project website, specifically the methodology section.

Digital Ability Program Evaluation Tool

This Digital Ability Program Evaluation Tool – presented as a template for developing an impact statement – is designed to assist facilitators and their organisations to plan, implement and evaluate impactful digital ability programs that are tailored to their communities.
