This research group encompasses projects and topics examining the inter-relationship of media, politics, and democracy. Broadly, topics and interests cover political communication, inter-group political communication among users and communities, the role of communication in established and emerging democracies, as well as illiberal regimes. Our research projects include, but are not limited to studies of online social movements, political activism, digital resistance, elections, voters and campaigns, civil society discourses, international or domestic politics, etc.
