
Xue Ying Tan is a Software Developer in the Digital Media Research Centre at Queensland University of Technology. Her research focuses on machine vision to explore everyday promotional cultures in visual social media platforms. Miss Tan obtained her Bachelor of Information Technology and Master of Computer Science degrees from the University of Queensland, in 2018 and 2019, respectively. Over the course of her Master degree, she participated in High Performance Parallel Computing research, building a compiler to translate from OpenACC to OpenMP, supervised by Professor David Abramson. Prior to that, Miss Tan worked as an intern with the National University of Singapore, Digital Media Research lab, working on surface meshing algorithms with GPU using CUDA Thrust, supervised by Professor Tan Tiow Seng. Her interests include Machine Learning, High Performance Computing, Full Stack Web Development and Data Analytics.
