Xiaoting’s study focuses on how China’s wanghong industry empower and manage the cultural work of wanghong creators, and how vernacular industrial practices in this field are shaping the industrialization and regulation context. Her research interests include (but are not limited to) media industry, creative labor and Chinese internet culture.
