Jon O’Brien is a strategic and technically savvy executive with more than 20 years’ experience in the information, communications and technology industry.
Jon has a proven track record for operating at scale and developing large complex initiatives that create social and economic value within a state and national context.
His values-based leadership style, customer advocacy and strategic focus enable Jon to consistently deliver transformational outcomes for clients. He has an outstanding track record of engagement across multiple customer segments — including the commercial, not-for-profit and public sectors — and has successfully led and delivered several projects valued in the hundreds of millions across the public sector.
Throughout his career Jon has led large multi-disciplined teams, implemented multiple change management programs, and developed and executed long-term sustainable business strategies, including M&A activity. He places a strong focus on mentoring and developing talent while striving for diversity and leveraging relationships, whilst delivering on his clients’ strategic goals.
Jon is a highly respected member and contributor of the ICT community through his involvement in various committees and boards.
Jon was a committee member for the AIIA Queensland branch from 2008 to 2018, during which period he held a number of roles including Deputy Chair and led a number of sub-committees, including government engagement. Jon was Director on the Board of Open Data Institute Australian Network from 2014 to 2018 and held an Advisory role on the QUT Digital Media Advisory Board from 2017 to 2018.
