
Gabriela completed a PhD with the DMRC in 2022. She also holds an MPhil degree (2018) from the same institution. Gabriela’s current research is focused on Brazilian YouTube culture and how this platform’s creators are challenging the construction of the national identity, previously built on traditional television. She is also interested in Latin American culture online, memes, television, and global media studies.
