    Christopher M. Cox is a Lecturer in the Creative Industries Faculty at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and a Chief Investigator at the Digital Media Research Centre (DMRC). His research focuses on automated and autonomous media technologies, with a particular emphasis on industrial ideologies of autonomy shaping the development and cultural inception of automated media. By conceptualizing “human-machine autonomy” as a field for the exchange of autonomy, Dr. Cox’s research specifies complex interplays of human, technological, and institutional autonomy amidst the development and innovation of highly-automated media technologies.

    To date, his work has appeared in the scholarly journals Convergence: The International Journal of Research into New Media Technologies, Journal of Digital Media and Policy, Critical Studies in Television, Transformative Works and Cultures, and tripleC: Communication, Capitalism & Critique, in addition to multiple chapters in edited book volumes.
