Misinformation and Manipulation Research Group

The purpose of this research group is to study false or misleading information spread through media ecosystems, whether unintentionally (misinformation), purposefully (disinformation), and in varying contexts including political communication, commercial/industrial, state propaganda, online abuse, and more. Focal points include development of concepts and theory, qualitative and digital forensics approaches, mixed methods frameworks, and large-scale analysis and computational methods.
