The ‘Creative Hotspots’ project research team is pleased to announce the release of ‘Creative Hotspots’ in the regions: Key thematic insights and findings from across Australia’, the project’s final capstone output.
The white paper summarises key national findings of the three-year project, Australian Cultural and Creative Activity: A Population and Hotspot Analysis, funded by an Australian Research Council Linkage grant (LP160101724) .
The project investigated the contemporary dynamics of cultural and creative activity in largely regional, non-capital cities, and towns across Australia before the outbreak of COVID-19. We looked at what makes each hotspot ‘hot’, in other words dynamic and growing. We were interested in commonalities and differences between the regions, and specific challenges. The study brought together population-level and comparative quantitative and qualitative analyses of local cultural and creative activity.
