Since September 2016, the DRMC has had the privilege to host visiting PhD scholar He Gou from Communication University of China. He Gou is experienced in social survey methodology and has participated in several national surveys in China including for a published book on Chinese journalists. For her PhD thesis, she is mapping young children’s digital childhoods in China and the relationship to children’s social development. To date she has surveyed over 1000 parents about their children’s digital media use and and parents’ attitudes to screen time and children’s social development. He Gou presents her preliminary findings on August 25th at 12 noon (KG Z2 502) for our DMRC Fridays session: Digital Childhoods in China and Australia.
