Claire joined the Design Robotics team as a Research Fellow in mid-2019. Her research is human-centric – exploring the influence that sociocultural factors such as an individual’s values and experiences can have on the design and use of products and systems.

Claire is educated in Industrial Design and holds a PhD titled “Design for Older Users: The Importance of the Human-Technology Relationship” from QUT. She has been involved in various research projects from navigation in public transport to furniture in aged care. In other lives she worked in television broadcasting and hospitality management. She has been a part of QUT’s School of Design teaching team since 2014, teaching into Product Usability, Culture & Design and Applied Design Research.
