This research will undertake a critical review of key mixed-use and multi-residential building projects from 5 – 30 storeys in Brisbane’s urban renewal areas (built and planned and excluding buildings in the CBD covered by the City Centre Master Plan) in order to provide commentary and evidence on interpretation of current policy, and application of the City Plan 2014 Multiple Dwelling Code. The review will identify where there is potential to improve built outcomes, including the contribution to high-quality subtropical streetscapes and public spaces and make recommendations on how to avoid misinterpretation of the Code in future, in order to achieve better built and public realm outcomes.
