Special interest group in Design Research with Latin America and the South Pacific
Diseño@QUT is a design research group that is part of QUT DESIGN LAB and striving to develop leading collaborative research-based projects relevant to Latin America, the South Pacific region and Australia. We are design lecturers and researchers from the School of Design Faculty of Creative Industries at QUT, with established academic links with Latin American Universities and with an interest to build relationships towards future projects and to further develop our current partnerships into: (i) collaborative research work leading to publications in Spanish, Portuguese and English; (ii) students’ mobility through Study Tour projects and Study Projects that aim for high impact outcomes, (iii) strengthening Higher Degree Research students exchange; and (iv) collaborating with our peer universities in Latin America and the South Pacific countries in Grand Challenge research projects.
Our links with Latin America and the South Pacific countries have formed from: our studies and experience as lecturers in universities in those regions, our experience as researchers funded by the Science and Technology Centers in those countries, and our established relationships with colleagues and expanding networks with new partner organisations.
Our research expertise expands across the Creative Industries disciplines in Design, Architecture, Fashion, Interaction Design, Visual Design, Visual Arts and Media and Communication.
