As we head into 2023, it is timely to experiment with and engage with the new AI technology on the block – chat GPT. Come along to this interactive DL discussion forum to share your experiences, your learnings, and how we can potentially use chat GPT for good (not evil) in building and managing our research careers!
If you have no idea about this new technology, challenge yourself to try it now before or during the webinar – ask it to draft a challenging email, paste in an abstract or introduction to a journal article you were working on and see what it does (or just put a sentence in and ask it to write 500 words on the topic), perhaps get it to draft survey questions, or turn your ethics participant, information into “plain speaking English”,
or paste in your existing QUT/linked in/speaker biography and asked to rewrite it to be more interesting, humorous or in the style of Steve Jobs. After being quite ignorant about the potential, Evonne has deployed all of those queries in the last 2-3 weeks, and being pleasantly surprised at just how smart and sophisticated chatGPT is! It is no academic – but it has the potential to help us with our jobs!

If you have been using this tool for awhile, and have some examples you are willing to share with the group, reach out to Abbe or Shelly to volunteer to be one of the opening speakers!
