QUT Design Lab Conversations are an online seminar, hosted once a month to discuss the challenges, opportunities and trends in Design research.

CLEVAR ways of doing Immersive Research:

Drs Selen Turkay and Ross Brown will present in two sections (15 mins each)

Selen will talk about representative projects from Cognitive and Learning Environments in Virtual and Augmented Reality (CLEVAR) research group, including using VR for burn injury rehabilitation and diversity training.

Ross will demonstrate new room scale augmented reality technology to enhance video presentations in Zoom, presenting exemplars of how this would work, while also talking about theoretical support for such approaches.

Dr Selen Turkay is a lecturer in School of Computer Science and co-director of CLEVAR research group. Her research interests include effects of personalised, interactive, and collaborative learning environments in particular gaming and immersive realities on learning, training, and wellbeing.

Dr Ross Brown is a senior lecturer in the School of Computer Science and co-director of the CLEVAR research group.  His research interests look at the cognitive effects of immersive systems, new haptics technology and survey methods in VR/AR for knowledge elicitation.
