Professor Marcus Foth has been appointed as an Associate Editor of the journal AI & Society. In this role, he will collaborate with esteemed colleagues, including Professors Karamjit S. Gill and Satinder P. Gill, and work alongside Professor Xin Wei Sha on the Curmudgeon Corner— a dedicated space for well-informed critiques and engaging, authentic op-eds. This section aims to foster meaningful dialogue on pressing issues related to AI and society, moving beyond trends and hype. Contributions are encouraged from diverse voices, particularly female scholars, and there is no need to embody the stereotypical “Einstein” figure to participate.
AI & Society has recently been ranked as a D1 journal, placing it in the top 10% of its discipline according to the Scimago Journal and Country Rank (SJR) and Journal Citation Reports (JCR). This recognition reflects its impact and leadership in examining how technology reshapes communities and daily life.
Having contributed to AI & Society as both an author and guest editor, Professor Foth is excited to join the editorial team in this new capacity.
