Launch • Entertainment Precinct at Queensland Children’s Hospital ➤ HEAL Project

On Tuesday 19 October, 2021,  the newly transformed entertainment precinct at the Queensland Children’s Hospital was launched. The tangible results of this transformative piece of work – parrot theme murals and floors for placemaking and wayfinding on Level 6 – will benefit many sick kids and their families.

As part of the HEAL project, QUT Design Lab led the design process (artist was CIESJ Masters student Kirsten Baade, supervised by A/Prof. Jen Seevinck, supported by Prof. Evonne Miller and Gillian Risdale).

We thank Clinical Excellence Queensland for funding HEAL and the QCH leadership teams (Lynne Seear, Belinda Taylor and Frank Tracey) and collaborators: the Starlight Children’s Foundation Australia, Radio Lollipop Australia and Kidzone, as well as the clinicians, kids and their families.
