Prof Verena Thomas & Dr Jackie Kauli were proud to represent QUT Design Lab facilitating a participatory communication and design workshop for the UN Women of Papua New Guinea, Women Make the Change Communications Working Group, when they convened their first meeting, in person and online, to discuss a national campaign on women’s political participation and leadership. The group brings together different partners from the media, UN, government, academia and civil society.
As part of the introductory meeting, the group discussed some of the narratives and perceptions related to women’s leadership in PNG. Through a collective exercise, working group members also co-created a poem on women’s political leadership titled ‘My Journey’, which you can read here.
