Join QUT Design Lab’s, Dr Janice Rieger, as she chats live on ABC Radio ‘Afternoons with Katherine Feeney’. Dr Rieger will be discussing the Vis-ability exhibition at the QUT Art Museum as a part of the 2019 Brisbane Art Design Festival.

Tune in to ABC Radio Brisbane at 2.30pm on May 22nd.

An initiative of the Museum of Brisbane, the 2019 Brisbane Art Design (BAD) Festival is where art, design and the city of Brisbane collide over a 17-day festival of dynamic exhibitions, performances, talks, art tours, workshops and open studios. Held from 10 – 26 May 2019, BAD showcases more than 150 Brisbane creatives, from emerging talents who are carving their mark locally, to trailblazers who are redefining creativity on the international stage.

Bringing together a selection of recent acquisitions from the QUT Art Collection, ‘Vis-ability’ at the QUT Art Museum has been conceived as a project to broaden understanding of the lived experiences of people who are blind or have low vision. Drawing on research from QUT’s Creative Industries Faculty, ‘Vis-ability’ proposes alternative ways of engaging with the Art Collection, considering how technologies can deepen our understanding of vision, and challenge our sight-driven experience of art.
