An opportunity for QUT Master of Architecture students to work with Glenn Murcott

QUT Master of Architecture students have been invited to participate in a master class led by the only Australian architect, to date, to be awarded a Pritzker Prize – Glenn Murcutt. He is best known for his environmentally conscious designs, which each have a strong Australian character.

A student will have the chance to assist at the Glenn Murcott Masterclass during the entire second week of the program hosted by Eco Outdoor in Sydney next month.

The student will be assigned to a group of Masterclass participants and will work alongside them to assist with their final project.

As an integral part of the team, they will assist with drawings, sourcing materials and model development subject to the critiquing process by the tutors Glenn Murcutt, Peter Stutchbury, Brit Andresen, Richard Leplastrier and Lindsay Johnston.

A program for the week is as follows:

Monday 24th September 2018

Work throughout the day at ‘The Studio’ – 7 Danks Street Waterloo – including studio set up with participants. Evening lecture by one of the tutors.

Tuesday 25th September 2018

Studio work continues. Glenn, Richard, Brit, Peter and Lindsay provide desk critiquing and tutorial support. Evening lecture by one of the tutors.

Wednesday 26th September 2018

Studio work continues. Glenn, Richard, Brit, Peter and Lindsay provide desk crits and tutorial support. Free evening or studio open to 10pm.

Thursday 27th September 2018

Studio work continues with tutors Richard, Peter and Brit. Late night working with studio open until midnight.

Friday 28th September 2018

Final presentation and critiques with Glenn, Richard, Peter, Brit and other guest critics. Tidy of the studio. Evening event for participants, tutors, support crew and partners from 7.00pm.

Eco Outdoor will cover the cost of the student’s domestic flights, airport transfers, accommodation and meals; a total value of $3,000.
