Dr Jen Seevinck takes up role as CSIRO Visiting Scientist

Dr Jen Seevinck, artist, researcher and senior lecturer in Interactive and Visual Design, is exploring creative interaction with big data through her position as Visiting Scientist with CSIRO‘s Data61 at the Eco Sciences Precinct, from May and until April 2018. The collaboration builds on Jen’s existing creative work and research into artistic visualisation and emergence in interaction, including the recent monograph “Emergence in Interactive Art” (2017).

Exploration of the data using artistic and graphic visualisation methods will lead to the creation of new interactive art works as well as design insights for emergent and aesthetic interactive experiences of data.

Jen’s work with CSIRO researchers is also fostering HDR opportunities and further collaborative opportunities between QUT’s Creative Industries Faculty, SEF and CSIRO.
