Rowina is a certified practicing accountant in Papua New Guinea and Australia with over twenty years of experience in accounting, business and financial management, office administration and human resources having worked in chartered accounting, private sector, state owned entity and international development financial institutions. The experience gained through exposure in these industries have equipped her with a wide range of technical and soft skills that are applicable to research. This includes analytical, communication, organisational and leadership skills.
Her research for her Masters investigates how community-based organisations (CBOs) can strengthen their financial management strategies within their organisations. Her research also examines the funding relationships between CBO’s and donors to enable them to continue to attract funding from multiple sources. Rowina uses arts-based processes to deepen her understanding around ways to understand how CBOs run their organisations. She continues to work with partners on various projects to strengthen their financial management systems.
