ARC success for the social impact of regional arts

Congratulations to A/Prof Sandra Gattenhoff, Dr Donna Hancox and Professor Helen Klaebe on the announcement of success in the Australian Research Council’s Linkage program for their project “The Role of the Creative Arts in Regional Australia: A Social Impact Model”.  Working with communities in Central Western Queensland and Tasmania’s Burnie region, the team will look to examine the impact of arts and how to design and develop projects which have impact.  This framework can then be used to evaluate success factors for regional and remote communities, allowing communities to target funding towards projects they believe will have the most future benefits.

The ARC Linkage grant will see the team work with partner organisations including Regional Arts Australia, Red Ridge, Australian Department of Communications and the Arts, Burnie City Council, Regional Australia Institute, Australian Performing Arts Centres Association, and the Central Western Queensland Remote Area Planning and Development Board.

You can read more about the project and the partners on the QUT News pages.
