
Carla Thamm is an academic and early career researcher in the School of Nursing at QUT. She has over 20 years of clinical experience as a registered nurse, most of this in cancer care in Queensland, Victoria, and England and over 10 years of experience in leadership and advanced practice cancer nursing roles. Carla is an active member of the Education Standing Committee for the Cancer Nurses Society of Australia, and the Knowledge, Development and Dissemination Committee for the International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care. She regularly presents at national and international conferences and is a reviewer for multiple cancer journals. Her PhD research investigated how discourse influences the head and neck cancer experience. Carla’s research interests are focused on toxicity management and models of cancer care.
