Specialist cancer nursing roles are increasingly implemented to improve cancer care, evidence is needed to show the impact of the roles on patients and the healthcare system. The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) has established the Prostate Cancer Specialist Nursing
(PCSN) service across Australia through the pilot program in 2012 and subsequent extension program in 2014. This project evaluated the effectiveness of PCSN service to improve health outcomes for men with prostate cancer and their families.
Project outcomes:
The findings of the evaluation provided evidence for continuation funding of the program.
