Cancer nurses are a pivotal component of cancer care, the quality of care they provide directly influences the outcomes and experiences of patients. Understanding and responding to workforce issues are therefore crucial to ensuring the availability of experienced, competent and skilled nurses to provide expert cancer care.
Worldwide, there are shortages of nurses across every speciality and every nation. In the face of the increasing incidence and prevalence of cancer, strengthening the cancer nursing workforce is imperative. This project seeks to understand the landscape of cancer nurses across Australia through multiple methods including a literature review a national wide survey and interviews with key informants.
