The Centre’s research theme on materials characteristions advances the boundaries of our ability to observe molecular and atomistic change. Driving the latest technology in Mass Spectrometry, ultrahigh resolution microscopy and imaging as well as the ability to direct chemical transformation at an atom-by-atom level. This theme develops and deploys advanced technologies directed towards the frontiers of mixture analysis and light-matter interactions.
The Materials Characterisation research theme solidly establishs QUT’s reputation at the forefront of analytical measurement and technique development, both nationally and globally, by prioritising the use of novel techniques that capitalise on our strategy of bringing together cutting-edge instrumentation and world-class technical expertise.
Our researchers are making scientific breakthroughs thanks to access to cutting-edge specialist equipment located within Central Analytical Research Facility which is operated by QUT’s Institute for Future Environments.
