    Role in the Centre

Sabrina’s expertise is in composite material research. Her role in the centre is to advance composite material research by developing high performance structural component to provide safe and efficient infrastructure that perform well under normal and dynamic loading.

    Short Biography

Dr Sabrina Fawzia is a structural engineering expert at QUT. Her research focuses on development of the high performance structural members by using composite material, structural strengthening by using Fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) material technology and material characterisation at microscopic level. Her research advances the existing knowledge of FRP strengthened metallic structural members under normal and dynamic (impact, earthquake) loading. Through her scholarly, innovative, high quality research she has established her national and international standing. Dr Fawzia’s excellence in research has been demonstrated by high quality refereed publications (103 referred publications: 1942 citations, h-index=22 Google Scholar), two ARC LIEF grants ($1.9M), two international grants ($138K), five QUT internal grants ($79K), QUT’s SEF Award for Excellence in postgraduate research supervision, ten PhD’s and three Master’s by research completions, being invited by reputed universities for seminars and the establishment of national and international collaborative research relationships.
