Role in the Centre

Focusing on the advanced materials and energy-related applications, Jun’s research interested are primarily associated with design and synthesis of advanced nanomaterials for energy conversion and storage devices. He is enthusiastic to make full use of his research strengths in innovative materials design to explore potential solutions to address the current energy and environment crisis, thus leading to a sustainable real-word future. Within QUT’s Centre for Materials Science, he is keen on exploring extensive collaboration opportunities with cross-disciplinary fundamental research expertise to promote the close relationships with academic and industrial communities. Meanwhile, Jun is devoted to rationally building new prototypes to bridge the current knowledge gap in advanced two-dimensional materials and energy storage fields and exploring effective solutions on battery design to meet the sustainable energy demands.

Short Biography

Jun received his PhD degree from the Queensland University of Technology in 2019, and then joined QUT as an Associate Lecturer in Materials Science and an Investigator in Centre for Materials Science. Until now, Jun has published 23 SCI-indexed papers and 1 book chapter with 18 articles as first author in prestigious journals, including Progress in Materials Science, Advanced Materials, Advanced Energy Materials; Energy Storage Materials, Chemical Engineering Journal and ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces. Among them, 2 papers have been selected as ESI Highly Cited Papers and 2 papers have been highlighted as the Frontispiece in the Journal Advanced Materials. Jun was a Higher Achiever HDR Student, received the 2019 Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award in QUT, and has worked as the assistant leader in Smart Oxide Group and the secretary for AM&ST Symposium. He has membership roles on the Australian Smart Energy Council, Australian Nanotechnology Network and The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society in USA. Meanwhile, Jun has been invited to join the editorial board for 7 journals, including 3 Q1 SCI-indexed ones, such as the Guest Associate Editor of Frontiers in Energy Research and Editorial Advisory Board Member of Heliyon, and is a journal reviewer for over 10 SCI-indexed journals.
