
Role in the Centre
Jessica Desport is the Centre for Materials Science Centre Manager.
Jessica oversees the Centre’s core operational activities, working closely with the co-Directors to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the Centre’s vision and objectives. She manages the strategic initiatives of the Centre, creating and maintaining a coherent set of partnership schemes to collaborate with Industry and ensuring the Centre’s engagement worldwide. She has the operational responsibility for the Centre’s budget and participates in cross-functional project teams. She contributes to the design of the Centre’s communication material, and events management.
Short Biography
Jessica originally comes from the South of France. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a Master’s degree in Materials Science. Jessica completed her PhD at the Institute for Polymer Materials POLYMAT in Spain (2017) and subsequently worked as a Junior researcher in Luxembourg and at the University of Amsterdam in The Netherlands. Her professional experiences have involved close collaborations with industry. Through research stays in five countries and six different universities, she has been fortunate to experience and develop a mature understanding of research strategies management and leadership skills.
