Role in the Centre

Jan Philipp is Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Mass Spectrometry Development Laboratory. His research focus is on the scientific programming (Python) in photochemistry, polymer chemistry, analytical chemistry and lipidomics. Development of discovery-focussed workflows for analysis of fatty acids and lipids in complex biological media.

Short Biography

In 2017, Jan Philipp joined the Soft Matter Materials Laboratory (School of Chemistry and Physics) as PhD student, under the supervision of Dr. James Blinco and Prof. C. Barner-Kowollik.  PhD project included method development for the characterization of photoreactive molecules and advanced applications of photochemical reactions. The use of a wavelength-tunable laser allows for photons to be used with control of their quantum energy and number.

Jan Philipp received his degree in chemistry a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Germany.
