Success in Round 1 of Discovery Early Career Researcher Award 2024

Our congratulations to the four Centre-aligned QUT researchers who join a group of 200 early-career researchers benefiting from more than $86 million in Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Awards (DECRA) funding, announced by the Federal Government in Round One of the national funding scheme.

The following researchers will collectively receive $1,738,768 for their projects.

Dr Juan Bai – “Bioinspired 2D nanocatalysts for inorganic nitrogen cycle.”

Dr Weidi Liu – “Design new-generation microscale thermoelectric device.”

Dr Xiaolei Shi – “Solving key issues in wearable thermoelectrics for practical applications.”

Dr Qian Nail Liu – “Quinoid Polymers for Organic Electrochemical Transistors and Bioelectronics.”

The Centre for Materials Science commits $5,000/year cash contributions to individual fellowship applications.
