Jared Hamwood first worked with the QUT Contact Lens and Visual Optics Laboratory in 2015 when he completed his Engineering Professional Practice under the supervision of Dr David Alonso-Caneiro. In 2017, Jared completed his Bachelor of Engineering thesis which was based upon the use of machine learning for processing medical images. In mid-2018, Jared graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Engineering, majoring in Software Engineering. Jared is now a Research Assistant in the QUT Contact Lens and Visual Optics Laboratory, primarily focusing on data processing for medical imaging. Jared also has interests in the areas of machine learning and software algorithms.
