The students have all previously been involved in research and bring a diverse range of skills to their doctoral studies at QUT. Asif Iqbal, Shashank Bhandary and Azam Darvishi have backgrounds in vision and optometry and have extensive clinical experience. Samaneh Hashemi has expertise in the field of medical engineering, while Mahdi Heravian Shandiz’s talents lie in the disciplines of software engineering and electronics.
Asif, Shashank, Azam, Samaneh and Mahdi are currently being mentored by an exceptional team of respected supervisors including Professor Scott Read, Professor Stephen Vincent, Dr David Alonso-Caneiro, Dr Damien Fisher and Professor Michael Collins.
The HDR path is challenging, however these students are well equipped to be successful in their doctoral research journey.
Congratulations to Asif Iqbal, who has already seen aspects of his scleral contact lens research published.
