The 23rdOctober 2021 Graduation Ceremony held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Center saw four HDR graduates from the QUT School of Optometry and Vision Science recognised for their remarkable research achievements. The four Graduates were: Dr Damien Fisher, Dr Rebecca Cox, Dr Swee Chai Teoh and Asik Pradhan.
In attendance at the graduation ceremony were, Professor Michael Collins (Acting/Head of School and Principal Supervisor for Dr Swee Chai Teoh), Professor Joanne Wood (Principal Supervisor for Dr Rebecca Cox), Associate Professor Stephen Vincent (Principal Supervisor for Dr Damien Fisher), as well as other QUT OVS academics, friends and family members of all four graduates.
Attendees at this same graduation event were also privileged to witness the honorary tile of Professor Emeritus bestowed upon Professor Ross Young (former QUT Executive Dean of Faculty of Health, Director of IHBI and Head of School of Psychology and Counselling). All four OVS HDR Students commenced their respective research studies when Professor Young was Executive Dean for the Faculty of Health.
Whilst the event was celebrated with some COVID restrictions in-place, face mask wearing requirements were eased and allowed for memorable celebratory photos to be taken. Photo above shows (from left to right) Dr Damien Fisher, Asik Pradhan, Dr Rebecca Cox and Dr Swee Chai Teoh.
