PhD Thesis Title:

A Methodological Approach for Establishing Place Quality in Australian Innovation Districts

PhD Research Summary:

The PhD research study aims to develop an integrated perspective of place quality in the context of knowledge economy; since place quality is recognised as an effective tool for attracting talented workers and knowledge-intensive industries. The research adopts a multi-scalar investigation to explore place quality in different geographical scales and specialise it for the district scale. A mixed-method approach including both qualitative and quantitative techniques has been designed to conduct the project. This PhD study develops robust frameworks to theoretically define and practically evaluate place quality in innovation districts. These frameworks deliver significant directions for planning and designing of innovation districts.
