PhD Thesis Title:
Improving Mental Health and Safety in the Construction Industry: A Bayesian Network and Agent-based Modelling Approach
PhD Thesis Summary:
The primary goal of my PhD research is to quantitatively assess the impact of psychosocial hazards on construction practitioners’ mental health and safety by developing a Bayesian network model, and then propose effective strategies for improving mental health and safety by applying an agent-based modelling simulation. The objectives are to: (1) identify psychosocial hazards and their interactions in the construction industry; (2) develop a Bayesian network model to analyse the identified psychosocial hazards and their effects on mental health and safety; (3) evaluate the effectiveness of the Bayesian network model to manage psychosocial hazards through agent-based modelling; (4) derive evidence-based strategies for improving mental health and safety in the construction industry. This research would contribute to improving mental health and safety in the construction industry.
