Welcome to the circular food economy!
This website offers knowledge, tools and resources to start building your own zero-waste circular food economy for communities, schools and other institutions. The resources available on this website were created through a joint project between Queensland University of Technology, Lendlease and Food Agility Cooperative Research Centre. The three-year project concluded in 2022 and all resources have been made available online and for free. If you are thinking about sustainable food systems, this website is for you!

The video below gives an introduction of the project, including a time lapse of drawings by Dr. Sue Pillans.
About this website
The Food category of pages is a collection of useful resources on how to start building your own circular food economy. It covers topics such as community engagement, food waste, composting knowledge, how to grow my own food, and the importance of fresh and healthy food. The later Technology category describes how digital technology made from recycled e-waste can support your project.
The different chapters offer general knowledge, more specific know-how and tools to help you implement your own projects, and examples of activities we have organised as part of the circular food economy project in Yarrabilba, Queensland.
Project leaders Associate Professor Carol Richards (QUT) and Mrs Karen Greaves (Lendlease) would like to thank the people of Yarrabilba, Queensland (Australia) and particularly the staff and students at Yarrabilba State Secondary College for developing this digital circular economy prototype with the research team.
