Our research

Heart shaped planet in a blue sky

We research the plight of individuals and groups which are denied power and identity as a result of compassion deficit and create ways to design and apply laws which overcome that deficit. We are motivated by a desire to maximise the emotional, psychological, and relational well-being of individuals and communities impacted by the legal system.

We explore the nature, role and effects of compassion as a catalyst for informing and empowering legal and regulatory responses to social pathologies – specifically, those which impact on the welfare of diverse and emerging identities – but also its potential to promote existing and new forms of flourishing in otherwise healthy communities.
