CIIC recently welcomed Dr Yvette Ong to the centre.
Dr. Yvette Ong recently completed her PhD in Microbiology from The University of Queensland (UQ) in 2024, which focused on understanding the complex regulatory network of key virulence factors in uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC). Yvette will be working with Professor Greg Cook on investigating the mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and strategies to counteract the problem of rapidly increasing AMR in bacteria.
